Friendly and Knowledgeable Comprehensive Dentistry, Periodontics and Prosthodontics

You will receive expert care in our office performed by skilled specialists in two different dental disciplines. Drs. Koticha and Al Sakka can provide you with all the treatments you need to have a healthy, beautiful and confidence-building smile.

We offer the following dental services:

Here is a list of the many services we offer our patients at Dental Specialists of Edmond.

New Patient Exam

We love meeting new patients and will make you feel welcome upon your arrival at our brand new, state-of-the-art office. Your teeth and mouth will be thoroughly examined—this may include full-mouth X-rays, an intraoral scan and 3D CT scan. We use a special microscope that enables you to view your teeth in great detail on a screen above the dental chair during your examination so you can get a dentist’s-eye view your oral situation.

Our doctors will discuss their findings with you and answer all of your questions. Patients interested in a cleaning can get it done at the same appointment.

Early detection of oral cancer can be vital to treat it effectively. That’s why we always make sure to visually inspect your mouth for any abnormalities as part of every oral exam we do.

Dental Implants

Dental Implants are the modern solution for replacing lost or unsavable teeth. We provide a wide variety of implant options to suit your unique needs, including implant-supported dentures and New Teeth in One Day.

Full-Mouth Rehabilitation

Our doctors have the experience and skills to take any mouth in any state and restore it to full health, function and beauty. A full-mouth rehabilitation is a 100% custom process for each patient. Teeth Extractions

Our primary goal is to save your natural teeth whenever possible, but if a tooth is too painful, fractured or loose, it may be best to remove it. Dr. Al Sakka expertly extracts unsavable teeth while you are comfortably sedated. He can then prepare the extraction site for dental implant placement in the future, a procedure known as “socket preservation.”

Bone Grafting

Dr. Koticha can build up lost bone in the jaw when necessary to create a stable foundation for implant placement. He uses Emdogain® growth proteins to speed tissue regrowth and healing.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Prosthodontists are considered the cosmetic specialists of the dental world. As a prosthodontist, Dr. Al Sakka has trained extensively in cosmetic and restorative procedures and in the creation of natural-looking dental prosthesis. He even teaches cosmetic dentistry at the Oklahoma University College of Dentistry. Any smile can become beautiful in his skilled hands.

Dr. Al Sakka uses special software to create a digital simulation of your new smile ahead of treatment. This will give you a preview of the end result, and you can make changes and adjustments to the design before proceeding.

Our doctors create strong and beautiful crowns and bridges made of top materials that are chosen to fit the aesthetic and functional needs of the case.

Cosmetic Gum Treatment

Dr. Koticha is expert at fixing a gummy smile or an uneven gumline. He skillfully trims the excess tissue from the gumline, lengthening the appearance of the teeth and creating a more attractive smile. Dr. Koticha also provides functional crown lengthening to expose more of a tooth's surface in preparation for other cosmetic dental procedures, such as new crowns or porcelain veneers.

Frenectomies

The small line of tissue that connects the lip to the gums is called the “frenum.” There is also a frenum that connects the underside of the tongue to the floor of the mouth.

A frenum that is too short or tight can restrict the movement of the mouth, causing issues with speaking and eating some foods. This condition is often called “lip-tie” or “tongue-tie.” Dr. Koticha uses a laser to gently trim, remove or adjust the frenum in order to create the proper mobility. This procedure called a frenectomy.

Gum Recession Treatment

Dr. Koticha can fix receded gums with a fast, effective and minimally invasive treatment.

Bite Guards/Splints for TMD

Jaw pain, earaches and neck and shoulder pain may be symptoms of an issue with your jaw joint (TMJ). "TMD" refers to any disorders pertaining to the temporomandibular (jaw) joint, and may be caused by misalignment of the jaw, compulsive clenching of the jaw, injuries or missing teeth.

Our doctors will take a 3D CT scan to determine the cause and severity of your TMD. For some patients, treatment could require only a filling or crown to provide relief. For most patients, a bite guard or split (a nightguard-like device that is created custom for the patient) will help.

Comfort & Sedation

We understand that many people have anxiety about getting dental treatment, which is why we are dedicated to ensuring that our patients are comfortable and relaxed throughout their visits. Our doctors and staff are friendly and caring, and they will take the time to fully explain your procedures, listen to your concerns and answer all your questions. We also offer comfort amenities, including pillows, blankets and TVs, to aid in your relaxation.

Sedation is available for patients who need that little extra help feeling at ease in the dental chair. Dr. Koticha is certified to provide oral sedation, and intravenous sedation is offered as well. The doctors help patients identify which type of sedation will work best for their situation. Because both types take some time to wear off, patients receiving sedation will need someone to drive them to and from their appointment.

A Clean, Sterile Environment

Your health and safety are our highest priorities at Dental Specialists of Edmond. Our modern facility was designed with cleanliness and sterility in mind. Our spacious office has separate treatment rooms for each patient, and we follow strict ADA and CDC sterilization and disinfection protocols. We also take additional measures to ensure the air you breathe is clean and virus-free, including medical-grade air filtration throughout the office.
